FAQ

  • What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)

Direct Primary Care is an agreement between the patient and the doctor without involvement from an insurance company. Medical services are provided for a low, monthly membership fee and allows you to have a direct connection with your doctor. We limit the number of patients in our practice so that we can spend more time with each patient and provide same-day or next day visits during those times you really need to be seen. Appointment times may range between 15-60 minutes so that you do not feel rushed.

  • Can I come without making an appointment in advance?

While we do offer same-day visits, we do not take walk-ins. As we strive to provide a high level of care to all patients without wait times, it is important that all patients are scheduled in advance in order to receive the proper amount of time during their visit. To schedule a same-day or next-day appointment, please call the office at 404-836-0856.

  • How do I contact the clinic during off-hours?

All DPC members will receive Dr. Ford's personal phone number to call for urgent needs.

  • Which insurance providers do you work with?

Our number one goal at SPARK is to keep our prices low and provide the highest quality of care. In order to do so, we have chosen not to be limited by the time constraints that comes with an insurance-based practice. We accept major credit cards, cash, HSA and FSA  as forms of payment. For patients with out-of-network benefits, we are able to provide a super-bill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

  • What if I need to cancel my membership?

Healing the body takes time. Therefore, the Direct Primary Care Membership is a commitment for six months from the enrollment date. Members have a 21-day grace period after their establish care visit to determine if our clinic is the right fit. Those rare patients who opt to cancel will not owe any additional fees, as the enrollment fee covers the cost of the initial visit. Beyond this period, if membership is cancelled prior to the end of the contract, we reserve the right to apply an early termination fee of $250.00 to cover the cost of care delivered.

  • Do I still need health insurance?

At Spark Performance and Wellness, we focus on preventive medicine and urgent treatment to help our patients stay healthy and out of the hospital. We are not, however, a health insurance plan and cannot replace health insurance. It is recommended that all patients continue to have a high-deductable, catastrophic plan to cover specialists, ER visits and/or hospitalizations, if needed.

  • What kind of procedures do you offer?

  • How do urgent care visits work?

An urgent visit is to cover one acute issue, such as a sudden injury or illness that began within 1-2 weeks of the appointment. This visit type is also appropriate for some medication refill appointments for "bridge care". An appointment is required and priority is given to Direct Primary Care members.

In-person visits are available for members if necessary however only virtual visits are available for non-members. If the problem is chronic or involves multipe concerns, we require non-members to establish care and enroll in the membership so that we can provide you with the best care. We can only address one concern in a 20 minute urgent care visit.
